Overview

The 2022 Impact First Summit took place from May 25-26 at the Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon, Portugal.

The Summit brought together participants from 16 unique countries to share and discuss cutting-edge technologies and approaches to address the world's most pressing development challenges. Through a series of plenary and breakout sessions and panels, we heard from a mix of technology experts, public health practitioners and implementing partners working on the ground applying these technologies to drive impact and improve livelihoods. You can view our full agenda here.

The Summit attracted NGOs, organizations from public and private sectors, academia, and donors, and we had participation from UNICEF, The Rockefeller Foundation Pandemic Prevention Institute, NORAD, Malaria No More, Unlock Aid, Johnson & Johnson Public Health, Jhpiego, Palindrome Data, Fraym, Dimagi, Duke University, Planned Parenthood Global, Palladium, Plan International, OpusVL, Food for the Poor, GAVI, Phillips, DIAL at UN Foundation, Premise, Bluesquare and many others.

This was our first in-person event since 2019 and for many the first in-person event they had attended since the Covid-19 pandemic started. We´re grateful to everyone who attended and loved seeing both new and familiar faces. Making connections with the right people is a key part of this event and we are hopeful that our participants made great connections to expand their thinking.

The event was a great opportunity to learn from other organizations innovating in technology in service of the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as to connect with people struggling with many of the same challenges we are in CARE.
