Ph.D. Haynes Sheppard has over thirty years of experience in international public health. For 20 years, Dr. Sheppard was a Research Scientist at the California Department of Public Health, supervising a large HIV diagnostic and research laboratory. He has had a long-term interest in the immunology, natural history, and pathogenesis of HIV infection, HIV vaccine development, laboratory support of clinical vaccine trials, and monitoring of HIV treatment. Dr. Sheppard has conducted numerous laboratory infrastructure and quality improvement projects in Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, South Africa, Nigeria, Liberia, Mozambique, Brazil, Haiti/DR, Trinidad-Tobago, Peru, Thailand, and China. At edgeDx, real-time automated reporting of test results and other health data is the major focus of Dr. Sheppard’s activities.
